You need to sign up too and then verify that you&#8217;re the admin for the domain. We&#8217;ll send you an invitation and walk you through the process of becoming the admin.<\/em>\u201d This happens when someone signed up for other services provided by Microsoft such as Power Bi. You can either choose for internal admin takeover process as explained by Microsoft <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.microsoft.com\/en-us\/microsoft-365\/admin\/misc\/become-the-admin?view=o365-worldwide\">here<\/a> or you can perform forceful domain takeover in Microsoft 365 as External Admin. It is quick process and also not typical.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Prerequisite for the Domain Takeover<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Below are some requirements that you should have:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Access to the Domain Hosting to add records.<\/li>\n<li>Windows PowerShell and MSOnline module installed in it.<\/li>\n<li>Admin access of the tenant in which you want to add domain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>MSOnline module can be easily installed in PowerShell by running a single command.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Process to Forceful Domain Takeover in Microsoft 365<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Please follow the steps mentioned below to takeover domain forcefully in Microsoft 365.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Run Windows PowerShell as administrator.<\/li>\n<li>Install Module MSOnline if not installed by running the below command.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<pre class=\"brush: plain; title: ; notranslate\" title=\"\">Install-Module MSOnline<\/pre>\n<ul>\n<li>Run the below command to connect to Azure Ad and enter your Admin credentials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<pre class=\"brush: plain; title: ; notranslate\" title=\"\">$Msolcred = Get-credential\r\n\r\nConnect-MsolService -Credential $MsolCred<\/pre>\n<ul>\n<li>Once connected, enter the below command to add domain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<pre class=\"brush: plain; title: ; notranslate\" title=\"\">New-MsolDomain \u2013name domain.com<\/pre>\n<ul>\n<li>After addition of the domain, acquire the DnsTxt records.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<pre class=\"brush: plain; title: ; notranslate\" title=\"\">Get-MsolDomainVerificationDns \u2013DomainName domain.com \u2013Mode DnsTxtRecord<\/pre>\n<ul>\n<li>Add these txt records to your domain hosting.<\/li>\n<li>Once done, run the below command to forcefully takeover domain in Microsoft 365 Tenant.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<pre class=\"brush: plain; title: ; notranslate\" title=\"\">Confirm-MsolDomain \u2013DomainName domain.com \u2013ForceTakeover Force<\/pre>\n<ul>\n<li>Now check the domain by running the below script.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<pre class=\"brush: plain; title: ; notranslate\" title=\"\">Get-MsolDomain<\/pre>\n<p>This will work. It is so much easy with the PowerShell to takeover domain forcefully.
